Marmot Granite, tough little pack

I bought the Marmot Granite as a compact pocket filled pack for Carrying on plane trips so I wouldn't have to check luggage. Last week, however, I did a 13 miler through some wet northwestern ohio swampy forests and found the pack really comfortable. Granted, it doesn't have a hip belt, but the lower than usual sternum strap held 18 lbs. fine. The pack is constructed of tough denier and has multiple pockets which I like. If anything, the pockets are so plentiful that I had trouble finding headlamp, stove, etc. But this was just the first day out. I even had to search several times to find a check I tucked away in one of the zipper pockets. Trekking poles fit well into the side sleeves and there is a bottom loader for your rain jacket. I hate giving any pack a 5 if I haven't had it for at least 10 good hikes, but... this is well built, can fit under a plane seat if not stuffed, and will be a great plane traveler or light load pack for day hikes. Heck, it might even be big enough for a one to two nighter on the AT if your tarping. Good deal for the money.
