It's got a lot of pockets. I mean a lot. I am still breaking in it. It's pretty stiff. It has a spot for a laptop (I think) but of course I don't take my laptop hiking or biking but it's there for those of you who might. I haven't had the opportunity to take it on a long day hike but for a few hours it has been comfortable and holds all I need (hammock, fleece, water, book). My reason for four stars is that the pockets on the side appear to be for water but they are awfully small. A 500 ml (16.9oz.) plastic water bottle fits perfectly, a 750ml Camelback will fit but not zip (it stayed in on my hike), and a 1000ml Nalgene won't even sit in there. I am not a fan of having to stop and dig in my pack for a drink of water. My only other complaint is the chest strap hits at an odd level for me (and I assume other women with larger breasts). Otherwise I love the color for added visibility (hunters in the woods or cars on my bike).
