This is a bit of an odd duck. I've been looking for a light jacket with a hood, for runs on those days where it might storm, wind is picking up, etc. This is super light weight and appears to be well made, but it still just didn't fit the bill for me for some reason. It might be TOO light and thin for my needs..where I run, if it rains the temp also usually drops considerably, and this is really neither warm nor stormproof in those instances. I found myself grabbing slightly heavier and warmer running jackets instead of this one even though they don't have a hood. On nicer weather days where it might storm, otherwise I'm running in short sleeves..I just have a long sleeve shirt around my waist or balled up in my hand. Still, I can imagine how this layer would work well for a lot of people, either of different body temps or climates, or maybe those who just prefer running in jackets more than I do. Just seemed to be a lost piece for me and nothing I could really use very often. Not Marmot's fault nor the quality of this jacket..just not versatile for my particular uses.
