Amazing deal on such a great jacket! Has all the technical features I was hoping for to (finally!) replace my 12 year old EMS ski jacket. The color blocks are modern; I love the bright zipper. The length is generous- it covers my backside. The XL fits comfortably with good range of motion for my long arms and 5'10", 170# frame.

Haven't given it the test yet (expect some snow this weekend) but it feels great and fits well. Note: I am 5'1" tall, 123 lbs, and
I ordered a large according to the sizing chart. Good thing, too, because it has room for a sweatshirt underneath, but a
medium would have been too snug. I'd say it runs small. I really like the yellow w/ black & green. Also, I love that the hood can
be unzipped to remove. I will be testing it out this weekend in the rain and snow.

  • “I don't ski, I'm looking for a replacement for my 17 year old Mountain Hardware gortex jacket. Is this light enough for fall and spring time weather conditions, possibly with a lighter layer underneath? Is the lining thick & plush like a winter jacket would be?”
Asked by Shopping Again from wisconsin on 9/21/2017 7:22:04 PM
    • This is a waterproof insulated jacket, so it could be too warm depending on conditions. There is not a temperature rating. Most manufacturers do not have temperature ratings for their garments or footwear due to the number of factors that affect how warm a garment may keep you.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
