Does what it's meant to do, which is be an ultralightweight daypack. Don't expect more, like be able to haul 30 pounds or be bulletproof. It has some really nice features (removable backsheet, compression straps, lid pocket, hydration sleeve compatible, tool attachment) but if you want other bells... Read More

Fantastic super lightweight pack with protective covering for the top! This little bright blue pack holds more than I thought it would and I am pleasantly surprised! There is ample room for everything you would need on a day hike in the flatlands or the mountains. Food, dry socks, light gloves, collapsible rain gear, light sources, and all the other 10 essentials for hiking fit easily into the pack with room to spare. Pack molded to my back easily and straps are hardly noticeable (which, being female, rubbing straps in the wrong places are very frustrating!). Aesthetically speaking, the blue is fabulous! Highly recommend the product!

I bought this item as a Christmas present and then decided to buy one for myself! Quality construction and will be just what I need for day trips when I'm traveling and for day hikes!

We needed ultralight backpacks to use as day packs while backpacking, this one fits the bill. I think it is better than the similar product from REI.

After a 5-day backpacking trip with no hard use besides compressing my sleeping bag and one peak ascent, this product already has micro-tears developing. I was cautious with handling it because it feels very delicate, and has unfortunately proven so!

Lightweight, compressible, and functional. Perfect for packing a couple of fleece jackets, beach towels or anything that you might want to bring along on short jaunts. Because it is so light, I find it's great to wear empty in colder weather and eventually stow gloves, a hat and a wind shell or lightweight fleece as I warm up.

  • “Is this bag big enough for a 15" laptop? Thanks!”
Asked by Bike to work from California on 2/21/2016 12:26:20 AM
    • It's about 18 X 14. As you can see, it tapers a bit toward the bottom.

    • Yes. My 15" laptop with an expanded keyboard fits in it, but you will want a laptop protector since there is no padding in the daypack. It is just ripstop nylon which is what makes it so nice, light and packable.

    • Yes definitely. I carry around my 15 inch laptop with a protective case and still have room to fit in where items.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
