This tent is really well constructed and thought out. I was looking to purchase a European style tent (one that has the tent body attached to the fly) and was leaning towards an Exped until I saw this gem on STP. Very similar to the Exped Orion and the Hilleberg Allak in terms of construction and bombproof materials. Vestibules are a little smaller than the other 2 brands, but still very good size. Very easy to set up. Marmot provides you with more than enough v-pegs for all stake out and guy out points. In my opinion, an overlooked tent that never really made it in the US market. It was offered in Europe for a while and was given excellent reviews by all of the major outdoor testers. Wind tested to approximately 87km/h or 54mph. As with all 4 season double wall tents, it is a little on the heavy side, but still within reason to pack on your own. The only thing that I am unsure about that made me rate it a 4 out of 5 stars are the mesh vents on the top of the inner canopy and the vents on the fly. They do not have zip up panels that allow you to cover the mesh on the inner part and the vents on the fly just lay down on the fly when in the closed position and have no velcro to hold them down. I could see snow possibly blowing under the vents and through the inner mesh in high wind situations. Time will tell. Can't beat the price though!

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
