Great Marmot quality, Paclite does NOT mean packable.

I am a huge Marmot fan, I have lots of clothing from the brand. This jacket is well constructed, and all the seam sealing is evident. However, it is not as breathable or light as the Marmot Hyper jacket I've had for a couple years (The older Hyper which was M3 waterproof, Not the Gore tex). The Optima has a much more plastic type feel than the Hyper. I have never had a Gore tex Paclite product, and I assumed it was packable into a pocket, but it is NOT. However, it is still minimalist, and will go into a small stuff sack (which I didn't want to have to buy separately). I will keep the jacket as a backpacking/hiking/biking/fishing jacket that I can stuff into a backpack, but my Marmot Hyper jacket will remain my daily spring jacket. Sizing in this is true compared to other Marmot jackets I own. I find Marmot a little slimmer cut than Columbia products, but not the "trim" fit of Mountain Hardwear. I could still fit a thick fleece under this jacket in xl, and I have a 46" chest.
