Lightweight but substantial

I really enjoy this jacket. It is light weight -- it is very much a waterproof windbreaker, there is no liner. But it is not flimsy, and does quite well on its own in 60F weather. Less than that, I like to layer a fleece underneath it, which it accommodates well. It is cut nicely, not swimming in it, but plenty of movement. I am 5'10" approx 195 lbs and the Large is good for me. The sleeves are longer than usual, but the velcro cuffs make adjustment easy. I like the finish on the jacket, which I'm guessing is typical Gortex finish, but I like the more matte look to the fabric. The hood does not tuck in, but that is okay, it sits well when it is down. There is a zippered breast pocket on the left outside that has good room in it. I wore it in a light rain yesterday and it held up fine. I am confident it will do well even in a downpour -- the hood is large with a nice brim, so it will do a nice job.
