Well made gear at a great price

The first raincoat I ordered from Sierra was a Froggtogg for about $12. It was fine, and lasted through a tough New Zealand trip, but it felt like paper and started to fall apart. I need a light, well-made raincoat with a hood and the Optima fit the bill. It fits in my hiking and fishing packs and is very lightweight and simple. I'm 5'10", 190 pounds, long torso and arms, and the coat fits perfectly with room to wear it over a nano puff. The adjustable hood is especially cool, and although some complained about the arms being too long, they're just right for me. Check out the YouTube review of the Marmot Minimalist. I can't see a difference between it and the Optima except that the Minimalist is a lot more expensive. I'll let you know how it stands up after I wear it a year.
