I bought this because Backpacker magazine rated it best all-around for $100 rainshells. And I got the PreCip for much less than $100, which made it an even better deal.

It's very light, which is both good and bad. You can easily tote it around town, but I do worry about catching a branch on the trail and ripping a hole in the jacket.
