Marmot Precip

I have only owned the jacket for a week but have thus far exceedingly impressed with this jacket. I haven't been able to sufficiently test its capacities for waterproofing, but for typical moderate Oregon spring rains, this jacket certainly works well at keeping all water out. I particularly appreciate the hood cinches and the velcro secured layer that covers the main zipper; these features seem to be fairly effective (when comparing previous jackets I have purchased from columbia).

One thing I didn't expect when purchasing this jacket is that it holds heat reasonably well (compared to experiences with other rain jackets). There is additional room for layering if necessary (certainly come fall or winter), but the jacket works reasonably well for Oregon temperatures in spring, particularly the Willamette Valley area. Overall, I couldn't be more impressed with the features of the jacket (weight, waterproofing, hood/waist adjustment, pit-zips) and most particularly for the cost! (approx. $56 with S/H). Very satisfied with this product.
