Keeps you dry

For the price, this is about as top notch of a rain jacket as you can get. It is thin and I'm sure there is material that breathes better, but it's a rain jacket. It's pretty difficult to make a rain jacket keep water from getting in and let water (moisture from sweat) get out so no matter what kind of rain jacket you get it's never going to breathe like cotton. The pit zips however do a good job of helping with ventilation. I hiked through the snow and rain on a 14.4 mile hike over Mt Leconte in Tennessee and this kept it out. I was still sweaty on the inside because of the intense physical nature of what I was doing in the first place, but the outside elements never got in. It is thin, but to me it doesn't feel flimsy. I also found it kind of funny that one reviewer expected a rain jacket to keep his legs dry as well. It's a rain "jacket" not a rain "coat." In order to keep your legs dry you also need to buy rain pants or it kind of defeats the purpose. Overall I'm happy with this purchase. It does as advertised and doesn't break the bank. For the price, it's well worth it.
