Love it! It's just a bit small.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Suzy from Maryland on Monday, February 13, 2017
I'm 5'7" and normally wear a medium, but this medium felt a bit tight across the back as I moved my arms forward. Also the sleeves seemed short. The sleeves in the large were at least 3/4" longer, so I went with the large.

I want to be able to stay dry dog walking and camping, glad I ordered the large so I can layer underneath as the Michigan weather cools.
  • Marmot Waterproof Jacket
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Gina from Iowa on Tuesday, October 16, 2018
I purchased this for my daughter to wear on campus. It runs small for layering so I had to exchange the small for a medium and now it's just right to wear over another jacket. This is tailored for a woman, not a boxy unisex style. My daughter is only 5'0" and petite, so I was surprised that it ran small. This will be perfect for cold rainy days walking across campus as it will fold up small and fit into a backpack when not needed.
  • Why velcro?!?
Reviewed by Rose from Portland on Thursday, October 11, 2018
tl;dr: good jacket but not compatible with long hair

I bought this jacket for cycling in the rainy Pacific Northwest. It's waterproof, vents well, fits well, and is very lightweight. But the velcro is vicious on hair, and comes right up to the chin. I can't wear my hair up in a bun under my helmet so instead it gets snagged and ripped on the velcro. I had to pass it along to someone with less hair.
  • Great rain jacket

This seems to be a great jacket that is long and roomy enough to fit another layer underneath. It is light/thin, but seems to offer good protection and has fully seamed hems on the inside. Can't go wrong with Marmot.
  • Great raincoat

So far I really like this raincoat. It keeps me dry and is breathable. I also love the green color!

  • “Does Marmot not offer a size L in this style in any color?”
Asked by Cestmoi from GA on 10/21/2018 7:12:52 PM
    • Yes, Marmot has size L in various colors at Marmot's website, for $100. There may be other sites offering it also, you just have to type in a search for Marmot PreCip Jacket on the internet. The closeouts at Sierra Trading Post are a great deal, if you can find your size.

The closeouts at Sierra Trading Post are a great deal, if you can find your size. I got a size larger so I can fit it over my insulation layer. If you are looking for a L, maybe the XL will be good so you can fit a layer of warmth underneath.

    • These jackets were inventory overstocks. They may have sold out of the size L jackets. Sorry!

    • They may be out of stock. I bought this jacket in XL. It runs small. I dont like jackets to fit tight so I usually buy large but my cousin had already bought this one and had to exchange for a size larger, in her case from small to medium. The XL fits me perfectly. It's a great jacket, lightweight and waterproof. Takes no room in packing.

  • “What is the return policy? Ive read the reviews on the sizing and I'm afraid that the size I order will either be too big or too small on me. Im a 145 5 ft girl, I currently wear a small in my Columbia water resistant rain jacket. Will I be able to return or exchange the size if it doesnt fit?”

Asked by Anemone from South Carolina on 6/18/2017 10:12:18 AM
    • We apologize for the inconvenience. Due to the nature of the closeout business, we often receive items in limited quantities. Therefore, some sizes and colors can sell out quickly. Occasionally we are able to reorder a product, but closeout items are typically unable to be reordered. We suggest signing up for the My Updates as the best way to monitor incoming products. You will receive email notifications of our newest stock items.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
