I first ordered a pair of these pants last year and was going to use them for an occasional rain while fishing out on the boat. Thought it would be nice to have a light pant, instead of having to throw on my heavy rain gear. These performed awesome they're light and comfortable and so far have kept ... Read More

  • “I wear a 34 waist/ 30 inseam. I see the large size has a 33 inseam and an ankle zipper. So, I assume I can't shorten the inseam. Any suggestions on size.”
Asked by Bruce to Ireland from Florida on 1/31/2018 4:46:22 PM
    • No, you can not shorting the inseam without replacing the zipper.
Answered on 1/31/2018 5:26:33 PM by BigBend from Rendon TX
    • The inseam is not able to be adjusted for this product.

    • Just roll up the cuff - either rolled-up from the outside - or rolled-up via the inside method. I mean - its not like this is an everyday trouser. You wear it when rain is in the forecast - so easy to do this on occassion.

  • “I am a trail runner. I need a lightweight pair of rainpants for running in the mountains where the weather changes rapidly. Will these pants do the job? thanks”
Asked by trailrunner from italy on 1/30/2018 4:42:50 AM
    • I love the pants, they have two version I have come to learn. One has full zips down the side and the other without. I would have preferred the full side zips but that isn't what I received. The pants however worked great while hiking through Patagonia a few weeks back so I would think they would work great for trail running through the mountains. I also think for running you don't want the side zips rubbing on your legs. These are light and they are waterproof. They are not breathable so be careful as they will suck the sweat right out of you or at least they did me. For the price these are awesome.

    • These would probably work for you.

  • “I have a 39 waist and 29 inseam. What size should I order and will the ankle closures keep the pants from dragging on the ground?”
Asked by Raymond from Virginia on 12/22/2017 5:28:58 AM
    • I have a 34” waist and went with the Medium but should have went with the large. I would size up if you plan on putting these over something other than shorts. The cuffs will help with dragging when your wearing them. These are super lightweight so you will want to make sure your activities are not super rugged. Trekking and hiking you’ll be fine. Mountainerring or climbing might only last one trip.

    • These are sized according to waist measurement. If you hover your mouse over or click on the sizes, the corresponding numeric size will be displayed. The cuffs should help to keep from dragging.

I'm 6' 1' inch with a 34' waist and they are the perfect length. He may want to go XL.

Asked by Quack Quack from San Francisco on 10/19/2017 7:39:27 AM
    • Yes. There are even ankle zips so you can keep your shoes on when sliding Precips on.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
