Good hiking pants

Bought these for my second pair of PreCip pants -- am still using the first pair, but the coated lining on the inside of the pants has torn where I sat on them, probably because I have used them several times for biking rain pants. And perhaps because they're maybe 7 years old now. The pants work pretty well for rain pants, but they work _really_ well for wind pants. My legs have been warm with a couple of layers underneath in temperatures in the 'teens (Fahrenheit) and windy. I use them for xc skiing in winter, and they invariably keep me dry and shed the snow, even when I crash and burn on a sloping turn that I cannot maneuver through. I wear 32-34 inch inseams in pants and have a 35 inch waist, and the Mediums fit me well, though I'm stretching the elastic on the waist. I'm sure the Larges would work, though they might be bulkier, and I wouldn't care for that. Anyway, I bought these on sale to have when the first pair really gives up the ghost.
