Not durable, waterproofing wears easily

These pants sacrifice durability for light weight. They started to lose their waterproofness after a few weeks of field work, and spontaneously developed a hole, not even at a point where the fabric was stressed. I expected better from this well-respected brand. Perhaps they would last better for lighter uses like hiking, but bicycling, kneeling, etc. seemed to rub through the waterproof coating at the knees. Also, the fabric sticks in the zippers.
