we live in the rainy pacific northwest...and i knew that i would enjoy my time outside MORE if i wasn't always wet. these pants were perfect in regards to quality and waterproofness! i read other reviews that stated the waist was tight...and BOY were those reviews correct. you must wear these pants at your natural waist (which is a lot higher than most people think) or you will be uncomfortable. they fit easily over jeans. i wore mine on a cold volksmarch in seattle over a pair of smartwool leggings and was warm and dry! they do what they say they are for - but they do not make you look cool - they are a bit poofy and the high waist is "dorky". if you are into fashion, these are not for you. if you are active, not worried about fashion when it comes to outdoor gear and wish to stay dry - buy these!!!
