5.0 out of 5 stars. most excellent

Bought these pants, along with the Precip jacket, for a thruhike this summer. It rained yesterday so thought it a good time to go for a test drive while walking the dog. Went for 5 miles in steady rain alternating with mist. Water beaded right off and I remained completely dry. Wore a pair of sweat pants underneath and the Precips allowed for enough room without being tight or bulky. Very lightweight. Zippers on bottom of legs and cinching if wanted.

For sizing information: I'm 5'6" and weigh 122 lbs. My dog is now thrilled that he gets a walk, rain or shine!

I would have preferred an elastic/drawstring waist. I feel too confined in this style waistband.

I think these will be perfect for hiking in Scotland. I had first ordered the large thinking I needed extra space if I was putting them over other clothes, but this was already built into the design and I returned them and got the medium. Love the pocket, ankle flaps and that it gathers.

Quality seems good - have not used yet - wish fit was a bit more tailored. I'm 5'8 and 135lbs and the medium fit well.

Prior to our trip to Iceland, I scoured the internet for high-quality, reasonably priced waterproof pants. I ended up purchasing these I can say, without hesitation, that they were the one critical piece of equipment for this trip. I wore them for four days straight with leggings under them and I stayed completely comfortable and dry. They breathe well and don't restrict movement. Seriously, such a great pant. I usually go between an 8-10 in pants and purchased the medium and they were perfect. Can't recommend these pants enough!

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
