I was looking for a shell to use for spring skiing and climbing. I have been pleasantly surprised by the performance of this jacket. It is a great shell in the wind, rain, and snow. Easy to put layers under or wear with just a t-shirt on warm days. You could spend three times as much and not get any... Read More

Bought to replace older ski jacket. Nice fit and coloring is good and waterproof rating is what looking for, just have not got it soaked. :) In either case like, but hood does not zip off. Think I want that feature to be able to wear with helmet and not get in way. Overall pleased with Marmot products and will see how this holds up.

A lot of condensation on the sleeves and the nylon liner gets wet and takes a time to dry. I removed the liner and will see it that helps. Not sure how this will effect the durability?

Like the fit, pretty lightweight and excellent coverage when climbing.

Bought for my son for his trip to Ireland. He commented on what nice quality it was and how quiet it was wearing it

After years of trying other products; Marmot Precip, Patagonia H2No, I was frustrated with the lack of waterproof-ness after one season. I've only had the jacket in one deluge, but it was a good one and happy to say, it passed the test.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
