  • Great jacket

This jacket has an interesting cut with the long front and rear basically like a dress shirt. It seems to be a little large in fit but close enough that I didn't bother to return it. The cuff has a snap closure but there is only one position so it doesn't make any difference. The jacket is warm and makes a nice light jacket to wear in a chilly house or outside under a parka for a little extra warmth.

Loved the blue/ turquoise color, and the style/ cut was very flattering. Nice alpine fit overall. I'm 165, 5'7" and the (M) medium fit my torso, waist, and shoulders very nicely. Also, the insulation provided good mid/ outer layer warmth in moderately cold conditions—as an outer layer comfortable to 40°f. The deal killer that compelled me to return the jacket, unfortunately, was the arm length was perhaps a couple of inches too long. Together with the fixed (too wide) snap cuff closure, the sleeves just slipped too easily over my hands. Had this been a Velcro or other touch-fasten cuff, would not have been an issue.

I thought I would like this jacket, but it just didn't look right when it was on. My wife thought it was a women's jacket

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
