I love this jacket, it will get used a lot as a light rain jacket and wind jacket.

This seems like a great jacket. I wore it in the rain the other day around the house and did not feel a bit clammy. Super light and has all the essential components, could I pick it apart and ask for more?...sure but then it would not be so light! Regarding the reviews that recommend upsizing ....this is an athletic fit ie the arms and whole jacket are tapered and not straight cut like some jackets. I typically wear a large in all clothing...5'10" 165 lbs and it fits fine. This is a summer and fall jacket that i can add a light fleece to for the evening chill NOT a winter jacket. I bought it because I want to lighten my pack NOT for a one jacket fits all situations! It should be plenty warm tor a three season jacket. If you want a ski jacket or winter mountaineering jacket THIS IS NOT IT. The price was great and fast shipping too, thanks Sierra Trading Post!

I purchased this with the intent of using it on a spring canoe trip to Quetico Provincial Park. Unfortunately, the cut and fit preclude layering, which is usually necessary in fringe seasons at that latitude. Taking cues from other reviews, I ordered an XXL rather than my usual XL. I found ample room in the body for a light layer, but the sleeves are tailored so closely that it's impossible to wear more than a single thickness of clothing beneath unless one's arms are like pencils. Absolutely no freedom of movement. The hood is another issue entirely. It will not conform well to anything other than wearing it in the 'up' position. I'm returning it and will keep looking.

Great quality and features but too snug in the arms and forearms for my needs. I was looking for something to layer over a light down sweater and the upper and forearms were too snug even for a mid-layer that light. And I'm not over-muscled, believe me. Returned.

I bought this jacket for my brother, who loves technical gear. He had mentioned that Marmot had come out with an incredibly lightweight rainproof fabric better than anything developed previously. I was surprised and delighted to find the jacket on STP's website at an unbelievably low price. Ordered it for him and he loves it.

Totally lived up to all the reviews. When i received the box, I thought they had forgotten to put the jacket inside it. To my relief it was inside. the fit is perfect, zippers works smoothly, Amazing jacket!

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
