Wore these hiking in Yosemite in late April. Good for rainy and chilly days (40s to high 50s). I'm giving them 4 stars because the Large (34-36) is a little baggy for my 5'9", 185lbs and the material isn't the most comfortable. I'm not a fan of the elastic waistband, either. Otherwise, they do what they're supposed to do. On a hike up the side of Vernal Falls in pouring rain, I was bone dry and comfortable. I think they would be great as ski pants over a liner.
