This would be fine for walking the dogs but it's pretty bulky looking, not feminine at all. It's warm and relatively lightweight, the fuzzy neck keeps out the breezes. The arms are long. I'm a size 12 normally (5'8", 140), ordered the XL and it feels big. I probably should have returned it for the L. The shoulders fit OK in the XL (I have wide shoulders) the the bottom is very wide.

I love this jacket and its contrast between the sleeve fabric and the front fabric. I got the red one and it looks very nice. This is actually quite warm with a base layer and I've been able to wear it running chores at 28F. I only wish it would be a tad less tight so that I could feel comfortable with a wool sweater underneath, but its style is close fitting to wear perhaps with a thin thermal base layer and when colder you can add a coat on top.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
