Reviewed by Noobski from Midwest on Friday, October 6, 2017Bought this for skiing. I don't think this is a good skiing jacket for what I was wanting. I would rather a shell type. This is more of a full service jacket. Marmot makes great jackets. I like the build quality, the pocket placement, the pocket sizes. The red color is nice as well.
I tried this and the Storm King in Medium and both are small for me compared to other brand mediums. I'm 6'1" 170 athletic fit and usually medium is what I need.
This one is also very restrictive when I put the helmet on. Range of motion is very limited.
I think this would be a very good winter coat, but I wouldn't buy it for skiing as the primary goal.
The build quality is great overall, though, just too small. Thankfully STP is so easy to work with on exchanges!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by todd from Vermont on Tuesday, November 10, 2015the jacket is comfortable and just the right weight for on and off hill activities. Fits great and the materials appear to be perfect for fickle northeast conditions.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Jack from Michigan on Wednesday, September 16, 2015winter is coming. But I sure it will helps me well.
Reviewed by BTH5 from New York on Wednesday, September 2, 2015I like the jacket: insulation seems just right, I like the pit zips, (Tram Line Jacket doesn't have them), I like the style and the color (ink). I had to size down to a medium (6'0 185lbs) but unfortunately the hood does not cover my helmet (POC) with either the medium or the large. The Tram Line jacket does.

“ Does this jacket have a 2 way zipper?”
“How many grams of insulation are in this jacket? And which model year is the jacket as I can find no information on the web about it? Thanks”
This jacket has 2013 on the tag. The grams of insulation is not listed on the item.
I did some more searching and found this jacket to be called the Dropin on Marmots webpage. Still no info on amount of insulation. Judging by the pics here the insulation is on the light side. http://www.zappos.com/marmot-dropin-jacket-blue-ink?ef_id=UqX1DgAAAHWqozsI:20131210034808:s Seems most manufacturers provide limited descriptions these days. :( Perhaps these were made for a major retailer under the Tram name. It also appears to be the Hard Charger jacket with insulation. http://www.sierratradingpost.com/marmot-hard-charger-membrain-jacket-waterproof-for-men~p~5392v/
“I'm 5'9" male about 167 lbs. Would a medium in the Marmot Tram Jacket be too big or would a small in this jacket fit me better (I would layer underneath)? Also would like to know if this is a warm coat as I live in Canada and it can get pretty cold up here in the winter. Would like to know these things before I order it online. Thanks”
