These are great pants, but if you go to the Marmot website you will see that the waterproof rating is 10000mm, NOT 20000mm as indicated in the STP information.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Fits very large-Sent them back!

The pants appear to be well constructed but I found the fit to be quite large. I am frequently between medium and large sizes, depending on the manufacturer. For Marmot, I wear a large size jacket, so I ordered a large size pant. They were huge! So i returned them and unfortunately a medium was not available.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. VERY long in Size L

Ordered a size Large for my son who is 6'2" and 170 lbs. Waist is adjustable and would have worked for his 34" waist, but the legs were just too long, went an inch or two past his heel. This is strange in that my son is pretty short-waisted (i.e., has very long legs). We were trying to imagine who might fit into these. Also this particular model is not well insulated, so these would work if you wear sweats or some other substantial leggings underneath. My son is not a fan of wearing anything more substantial than HotChillys long underwear. Other than that, they appear to be good quality. We returned them.

Ordered an S for my 5'8" slim teenage son. The waist fit fine but legs are huge and almost too short, have to return.

I haven't had a chance to use these yet but they are well made and fit great at the waist and true to size but they are a little baggy in the legs which is not a big deal for me. Marmot makes a good product so you can't go wrong with these.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
