Love this jacket! I wear it around the house in the morn while waiting for the house to warm up, I wear it out and about with under layers in the 40% weather we are having, I wear it under my winter shell for ski touring. It was well worth the money. I also have it in white.

Was the perfect layering solution under my 3/4 puffy, 650-fill, instead of a new, heavier warmier puffy, suited only to really cold days...so with the Variant, I now ALSO have a fantastic running jacket, too. Freaking psyched. In the Variant, I can run in the low teens, snow and ice, with this light layer and stay warm without sweating and then freezing. The hood helps to moderate body temps, too; love the reflection for night time runs

I bought this for running in the Kentucky winters. I've been able to wear it hiking so far, and I really do love it (and the orange front is great if you don't want to get shot during deer season)!

I am a huge fan of Marmot and they didn't disappoint with this fleece! Love the colors, the fit and the feel of the jacket. Very true to size

I was optimistic about this jacket because Marmot makes great stuff, and their XS pieces fit me perfectly - a great brand for petites. But the material in this jacket was just too shiny in the front for my tastes. its very warm and I"m sure it will perform well, but it's a visual thing for me.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
