Verified Buyer Reviewed by Bearbait from West Virginia on Tuesday, November 14, 2017Awesome overall trail running shoe. Tread and sides hold up well and it has a good roomy toe box. I have ran everything from buff, smooth single track to slick and highly technical trail in the Smoky Mountains in these shoes.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by Rec running hiker from Nebraska on Friday, October 13, 2017Was actually looking for a road runner, but the Gel Cumulus were a hair too small in a size 14. Not a lot of options at that size so went with these offroaders. I've had good luck with Merrel in the past. They are a little heavier than road shoes, but not too bad. The soles feel good on pavement or in the grass. Very good grip off road. Later support is a bit light, so trailrunning or down hills might want better insoles. The outer sole is cushiony but not super plush. Almost feels like a stability runner, but not quite. Somewhere in between. The toe box of these is enormous. If you like to have wiggle room for your toes, these are for you. Initially, it felt too much, but over time I've gotten used to it and now my other shoes feel cramped.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Big Todd from Santa Barbara on Thursday, October 12, 2017I can see why these were so inexpensive now. I bought the orange/red ones. Man are these UGLY. I am embarrassed to wear them out in public. They look just like shoes that would come with a spiderman costume. That's what I tell people when they ask. I'm actually planning on buying some black spray paint and trying to tone these down a bit. Wish me luck. They were pretty cheap though.....
