I love these boots, I wore them straight out of the box to a wedding all evening and they were extremely comfortable and fashionable too. No issues whatsoever, and I'm happy to have a boot that is waterproof and can be worn all winter. I have large calves (15" circumference) and these fit just perfe... Read More

Everything was great EXCEPT for the toe!! After normal use, the toes looked like someone had filed away at the sole portion ... it turned white and I had to try and cover with a black marker! The actual toe box was fine ... it's just below that ... maybe the welt? I have worn many boots over the years but this is the first time something like this occurred. On buses, I would look at other women's boots to see if anyone had a similar issue ... none that I could find. Since this was a closeout, SRP could not replace with the same boot so I opted to keep it since, in so many ways, it was what I wanted.

The coating on the material was not taught into the seem along the toe of the boot & peeled off leaving it exposed to the element. This was how they came. I probable shouldn't have tried to pull it off, but it was like a tab of material hangging off the front of the toe. I should call the manufacturer. I didn't think these were 2nds in quality or I wouldn't have purchased them. The style of the boot was exactly what I wanted a stylish, but practical & safe to wear in winter weather & they proved to very slip resistant. They are not for women with athletic calves!! I find them very tight in the calves, so measure your calves & check against the manufacturer's listed measurement.

This boot is great, well made and comfortable right away. The fit was good, the 7.5 I ordered fit my size 7 foot with just enough room to need thick socks which was my plan. Unfortunately I sent them back because though they fit my mid calf well, there was an odd gap at the top. Making my muscular calf look even bigger.

Love Merrell boots in general. They have removable insoles so if you have to have arch support you can swap yours in for the standard ones. Cute, good fit and generous calf cut without begin baggy.

My only goal for this winter was to get a pair of reasonably attractive, waterproof leather boots with actual traction--and ideally in a price range that doesn't make my insides hurt. Living in Minnesota with our unpredictable winters, I end up wearing my hiking boots about 90% during the colder months to help with any unseen ice patches. I am also a winter biker, so wearing those heavy hiking boots while biking gets to be a pain.

While these are a rather simple design, no extra frills or decorative touches, they are exactly what I needed. I can even wear them biking to work and have they carry over into my work outfit.

About Merrell

The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.
