Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Kim from Minnesota on Monday, August 21, 2017I am so happy with these shoes. My toes all have room to move and the added support in the arch area is terrific. Very versatile shoe for outside wear as well as inside too. They were a great fit right out of the box as well, nothing to break in. Such a great shoe that I now own two pairs!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by CanyonWren from Minneapolis on Monday, August 14, 2017I have struggled with plantar fasciitis in the past, so I'm very picky about my shoes. Loved the look of the Merrell Moab hiking shoes, but the arch was just too high for me. These, however, are just perfect. Feel more like a tennis shoe but have the stability and grip of a great hiking shoe. They don't seem to have as much cushion as a running shoe, and the soles are definitely thinner than the Moab or my Keen hikers, but hopefully they will hold up. They run a bit narrow in the toe box compared to most of my hiking shoes, but that hasn't bothered me so far.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Bevm from Mn/Colorado on Friday, August 4, 2017Comfortable shoes and not too heavy. I'm more of walker but these were great on the uneven ground of trails.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Forest dweller from Mountain town on Monday, July 31, 2017True to fit, size 8 is a little wide but fine for hiking. I got the taupe but as someone else commented, it looks purplish which I like.
Strange squeak occasionally but not too annoying. Good laces that stay tied. And the arch support could be better but I have a really high arch.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Belle from New Mexico on Thursday, July 27, 2017They run a little small- I went up a half size.

“Is there a benefit to choosing the non-waterproof version rather than the waterproof ones? For example are they more breathable or more flexible? ”
I cannot answer your question. I wasn't looking for the waterproof version, if I were I would choose a muck boot anyways. I have never had very much luck with a tie up in sloppy mud or snow. I just wanted a firm woodland trail walking shoe.
Trail shoes have a medium to high arch support.
“Hello are these shoes waterproof I am going to Cornwall England for a month and need waterproof walking shoes”
I cannot truthfully answer the question. We haven't had much rain here to test that out. However they are the most comfortable shoes I have bought in ages. Fit as if I had them special made. Very comfortable. I have worn them in dew covered grass with no issues. Enjoy Cornwall.
Item 104YU is not waterproof.
