Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Perfect trail running shoe!Reviewed by Missy from Washington on Monday, January 22, 2018I normally don't leave reviews, but just had to. These are trail running shoes, not some [...] for yard work. For trail running, these are phenomenal and top-ranked. These are professional grade, lightweight shoes for long-distance trail running. Please buy whatever for yard work and leave these for runners, someone would appreciate the deal and the shoes would be used for their proper purpose.
not a typical Merrell fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by SLVC from Pacific NW on Thursday, November 9, 2017I've purchased and worn multiple pairs of Merrell shoes over the past five years and these were a very different fit. Does not fit like the typical Merrells. The length was fine but the width of the shoes were more on the narrow side. I have medium to wide feet and the arch side of the shoe digged in. I went up a half size and still had the same problem with the arch side. These are very light weight and appears to have good traction. I'd needed a trail shoe to take on travel and if these fit better I would have kept them. Returned these and got the Merrell Moab FST and they fit perfect.
Cheaply madeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mac in the mountains from Colorado on Wednesday, November 1, 2017Returned a pair for a smaller size only because the return shipping charges were high and I thought I could use them for yard work. These shoes are very long in length. There is NO cushion insole. The M width is very narrow through the arch area of the shoe and then back to wider in the toe box. The tongue is not gusseted. These were seriously overpriced even at their seemly inexpensive listing price...Merrell has lost credibility with me. I have always considered their brand to be very well made.
Excellent shoe!Verified Buyer Reviewed by butterfly_massacre from Michigan on Thursday, October 19, 2017The tread on this is outstanding! Super lightweight, but durable. I'm confident they will be perfect for my outdoors trip next summer and tested them for a full day of work and chasing a toddler. Great cushion and grip.
Lightweight but worry about strengthVerified Buyer Reviewed by TigerMom from CT on Thursday, September 28, 2017These sneakers were very fun looking and lightweight. That said, the fabric on the sides were very thin so I wondered about the ankle support. I returned them as I was looking for something more rugged.
Fabulous ShoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Emmy from Washington on Wednesday, September 27, 2017These are flexible, comfortable and perfect for our rough terrain hikes.
Awesome Shoe!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Lisa from California on Monday, September 25, 2017Great quality, very comfortable, incredible traction, amazing shoe!!
Good soles but very lightweight fabric topReviewed by Hannah from Evergreen CO on Tuesday, September 12, 2017I returned these. The fabric across the top of the shoe was extremely thin - seemed fragile. Might be fine for travel or another reason to want to keep it light. Not normal Merrill quality. Fit was true to size.
Great traction!Verified Buyer Reviewed by wilderness11 from Alaska on Wednesday, August 23, 2017Using the shoes for trail hiking. True to it's name as a "Tough Mudder", the shoe has great traction on mud. Also has as great traction when descending a trail that has small, loose rocks on top of hard packed trail; no sliding.

“Are the sizes mens? If so, what should I buy for a 9 women's foot?”
The sizes are women's [see description with For Women in the title--it's easy to miss!]. I tried a 9 and it ran a little big. So if you like a good fit, go for 8.5 size. Note, this shoe is very lightweight, and I worried about the ankle support. The bottom is fairly strong but the sides are weak. I ended up returning due to size and concerns about lightness of the shoe on the sides/top.
