I wear an 8.5 and these shoes fit perfectly and were comfortable right out of the box. At first they felt a little snug due to the inside padding, but they weren't too tight. (I have bunions and need plenty of toe room plus room for arch supports.) These might be a little warm for hot climates but t... Read More

True to size. I am a 7.5 most of the time and my feet tend in the wider shape and they fit perfect. I love the way the shoe laces at the top with a hook , it makes it easy to get in and out of the shoe.

I bought these shoes because I am an RN who works in surgery and thus am on my feet for sometimes 9-10 hours straight. I wanted a shoe with way above average support and padding for my feet as they get so beat up during my work day. These shoes are PERFECT!!!! I love them. I have worn them for about 3 weeks now in surgery and my feet are so thankful. The first two wearings were a bit sketchy but I paid heed the the review that said they needed a break in period and that was spot on. They are wonderful now.

These seem to be great so far. But the leather on the sides cut off my circulation the first couple of times out. I did loosen everything and so far they are better. Hopefully just need to break them in some! WHICH, I certalinly intend to do. Merrell's are great for me!! Happy Holidays!

After using these boots weekly on hikes of 8-12 miles, I was glad to find them still available from STP. They were comfortable right out of the box, and fit true to size (10M). I also like that they stay tied without a double-knot.

  • “Do these shoes provide enough support for hiking in mountainous terrain?”
Asked by HW from Pittsburgh on 6/29/2016 8:20:59 PM
    • The sole is pretty decent, but as these are shoes instead of boots there is no ankle support.
Answered on 6/30/2016 10:22:23 AM by Product Specialist Greg from Sierra Trading Post
    • Yes, they do. They are cushioned, and also provide heel and arch support. the outer sole can manage rugged terrain. I personally prefer mid-high boots for serious mountain hiking, but only because I have a weak ankle.

About Merrell

The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.
