What's with that name? I've worn many Merrill shoes, most of them trail or hiking shoes so I was expecting something along the lines of a rugged shoe with a impenetrable sole, on the stiff side, with excellent arch support. These are not what I've had in the past. The shoe is low sided so stones and dirt can tumble in easily. The sole is thin so I feel every pebble and it flexes more than I like, although the lug is grippy and reliable. The arch is low to nil making these little better than a pair of flipflops in the back country. For around town or casual day at the office they are perfect. I bought the black suede pair which verge on dressy( for a sneaker...)and have a little winter camo trim around the ankle. I found them to run small so order a half size up or bracket your buy with a return in mind.
