Straps issuesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Gemini from Carrboro on Wednesday, June 13, 2018Color was great and overall cute design. Two issues with straps: one- my kiddo said the edges below the top strap were sharp/pokey; and two- the top silver strap (decorative) was strangely longer (on both shoes) and kind of hovering above the others. Weird look but won’t affect function. You can kind of tell in the pic but I didn’t notice. This shoe is also tall from footbad to straps so for a thin foot they were not secure. Overall since these are meant for bare feet and were not comfy they went back.
Great shoes!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Virgile from East Coast on Wednesday, April 11, 2018You can't go wrong with a merrell shoe. Amazing quality!
Great Merrill qualtyVerified Buyer Reviewed by maine lady from Maine on Monday, April 9, 2018Remember these are youth sizes for girls so a 6 =about a 7 or 71/2 women’s shoe. A bit wider for a younger foot. Good support and a kids look for those growing fast 11year olds.

“I do not understand sizing for Youth Girls for Merrell Sandals?
How can a size 6 YG mean 7 or 7 1/2 Womens?”
I did not understand this either until I visited a Nike store with an 11 year old. Girls Youth sizes overlap with women's. The youth shoe is bit wider, to accommodate a growing foot, and is usually less structured, and lighter, assuming a lighter weight wearer. Women's shoes are made on a narrower last, and depending on the style, can be made with heavier materials since worn by adults whose feel are fully formed, and whose body weight and strength is greater.
They told me to expect a 1 to 1 1/2 size difference and that turned out to be true. She fit in a 6Y but left with 7 1/2 women's sneakers.
“Hi - is this good for an 8 year old? I bought the other ones that said for little and big girls and it was a baby size and I need a size 5 for a an 9 year old! ”
These are the bigger kids sizes.
