I really love these shoes. I have a wide foot so they were uncomfortably snug for the first day or two, but now fit so comfortably. I was also surprised to find that after a long day on my feet, they have plenty of support to keep my joints happy. I can't wait to order the black pair.

Not enough support for my feet. Returned shoes.
  • Too small and too bad

I bought this in a 5 and usually fits fine in that size. These shoes were so tight and tiny my feet were in pain everywhere.
  • Great quality, seem comfortable, but run small

The shoes were unfortunately too small (next size would be too large). Otherwise, the shoes are soft, comfortable, and look great.
  • Great shoe!

I finally found a casual shoe that does not have all the orthotic nonsense built in! Very comfortable shoe!
  • Bought 2nd pair, nuf said?

These work great for me, walked 6 miles in 90-degree weather in them on Saturday. They are so light-weight I don't automatically kick them off when I get home.

  • “I'm an 8.5. Do you recommend sizing up half a size or sizing down half a size? Being Merrell's, are these good for walking as well?”

    • I usually wear a 9.5 in Merrell's but I found these to be too loose.

    • I would recommend sizing up...especially if you want to wear a light sock.

    • I have wide feet and wear a 9 in Merrill's. These are true to size, both in length and usual Merrill width. They are very comfortable to walk in, and have a neutral to negative heel. I have walked most of the day in the city, and my feet were fine. They are not for trail walking. I wouldn't go down a size unless you have very narrow feet.

    • I went up 1/2 size but also put in inserts for cushion and arch support. They are comfortable although hardly any padding in sole as you may expect from merrell's

    • First of all, I ended up returning these shoes because the left shoe was oddly tighter than the right across the ball of the foot. I am a size 7.5 for most casual shoes and the right shoe fit just fine. I considered sizing up to 8 but thought that might make them too long and the heel might become too loose. That is what happened when I tried a size 8 in a similar leather flat by Merrell. However, I do generally order a size 8 in Merrell's minimalist-style running or trail shoes, which fit great and I love.

About Merrell

The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.
