When I first tried these on, they did not seem comfortable, unlike other Merrells I have had. The fit seemed too snug and the footbed did not seem very cushioned. I went ahead and wore them, however, and I was pleasantly surprised. They feel very lightweight, and they somehow seem to help my stride roll along quickly, so that I feel like I have wings on my feet. The soles still seem thin, but my feet do not get fatigued in them. They have become my main work shoe. I am so glad that I gave them a chance.

I probably have eight or nine other pairs of Merrell shoes, some worn to the point of paper thinness. I love the fit, love the look, and always get them thru Sierra where I love the price.

Usually Merrells fit me really well, so I was surprised when I received these that they felt tight, however not tight enough to go up a half size, which would probably be too loose. The deal breaker for me is that I have high insteps and the portion of the shoe covering the instep is cutting into me, I will have to return these.

Fits well. Good support. Quite comfortable. Good with both dress pants and jeans

I've bought many pairs of Merrells previously and 95% of the time an 8 is correct for me. For these, though, my big toe was right up on the end of the shoe, though the rest of it fit fine. I'm returning for 8.5 in hopes that will not be to big all around.

About Merrell

The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.
