I had been searching for some shoes that would replace some old worn out slip on merrells I had and also replace my 8" boots for work. These ended up fitting the bill, and they've been working great. We're on a wet year so it's nice to have a bit of waterproofing for going into the fields when I'm s... Read More

I've taken these hiking serval times through mud, snow and water and they work and fit great with no break-in problem.

These shoes are well constructed, fit well for the stated size (overall size and cut, enough toe room, without excess heel slip), are comfortable in almost all respects, lace up easily and lacing moderately tight did not cause any pain points. The tread has open angles that helps dirt fall out easily (don't have to dig out lodged stones). The color is close to what it appears in the pic (dark taupe), but I would say that it is more gray/green than shows in pic. I have not worn them in rain yet, so cannot comment on water proof aspect. However, I did put some nickwax suede proofing on the suede parts, and it took a while for it to absorb, meaning that the leather is already pretty well treated. One potential negative: the design of the sole and insole left me feeling a high spot (more pressure than elsewhere) at the inside front of my heel on each side. However, after wearing for 2 days the insole foam conformed pretty well. Can still feel this a bit, but might not notice it now, if not noticed when more pronounced earlier. Definitely worth a try.
  • Great shoe and great price

I ordered the mens 9 and that is what I wear. They fit true to size I would say. Overall, it's a great shoe. Rode my bike with them in the rain and did well. They are comfortable to walk in, good lacing system, and good great sole. They look to be well built.

Fit was right on and very comfortable right out of the box.
  • Sturdy outdoor protection

Very functional light hiker. Dry, grippy but non-clogging sole. Roomy fit ( ordered 1/2 size up) , ample toe box in wide. ‘Looks’ better for trail than town but OK

About Merrell

The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.
