5.0 out of 5 stars. Exceptional!

These hiking boots are exactly what I was hoping they would be! My shoe size runs between an 8.5 and 9...I ordered the 9 and they fit like a dream. I'm able to comfortably wear hiking socks and had no issues right out of the box. They're light and offer amazing support from ankle to toe! Exactly what I need for leisurely strolls through the woods or for more difficult trail hikes...I like the color, too!

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Comfortable!

Normally wear size 6, bought 6-1/2. Added cotton hiking socks and went on a two-mile walk up and down low hills. No slipping on a rain-covered wood boardwalk. No snow/ice to test at this time. Lightweight and comfortable.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Looks good but runs small

The toe box is much narrower than other Merrell hiking shoes I've worn. Best to order a half or full size higher if your feet are a bit wide and you want to wear heavy socks. I'll wear these in warmer weather with lighter socks.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great boot

As other reviewers noted, this boot was comfortable right out of the box. I always hold onto boxes and packing since buying boots and shoes online can be tricky. In no time at all, I pitched the box as I knew these boots had found a home. I normally wear 7 1/2. I ordered these in size 8 and they fit great and allow for a thicker sock if I want.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Fit Out of Box

These boots are the first pair of hiking boots that fit and feel great right out of the box. They are snug with thick socks and have great arch support. In addition to looking nice and requiring no break-in to be comfortable, they have nice lugs for traction on uneven surfaces. Being lightweight is an added bonus when the pounds matter in backpacking or traveling overseas with carry-on luggage only.

Merrell knows what they’re doing when it comes to outdoor gear. These are super comfy waterproof hiking boots. No breaking in necessary, just strap them on and go. Vibram sole is sturdy stays put on slick surfaces, waterproofing works well for snow and rain. Color leaves a bit to be desired but the price was right. My only complaint is the shoe lace length and that there’s not enough lace anchors to really lock in your ankle.

About Merrell

The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.
