Lightweight and comfortable

I've only had these a few weeks, but they've performed admirably so far. Fit was perfect and they were comfortable right out of the box - no need to break them in. They're well-padded all around, especially in the soles. The insoles that came with them are comfortable enough that I won't need to buy an extra pair. Some reviewers around the web have complained that they don't last all that long, so we'll see how they do after some longer hikes. That's an inevitable trade-off when buying breathable, Cordura-based shoes instead of leather. These are an older model, but I couldn't find any improvements in the newer Moab Ventilator 2 model that would justify the higher price. They also aren't waterproof, although that won't be a problem for most of the hikes I do close to home. A version with a Gore-Tex liner is also available if you need a little extra protection from the elements.
