Absolutely wonderful, comfort, function, wide toe box
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Judy from Colorado on Sunday, May 28, 2017
I adore these shoes - low hiking boots - great tread, comfortable right out of the box. Took them on a decent hike (3+miles) and had no sore spots. The toe box is wide enough to wriggle your toes, which I love. My normal size was right on. Love love love them.

Great overll shoe for about anything. Looks good and can standup to about anything!
  • Breathable shoe for hot Georgia summers

These feel great right right out of the box. I wear a 9 in athletic shoes and these are true to size. I can easily wear them with a custom orthotic for extra support. I own the tan and the blue - both great colors. These are now my go-to shoes for hiking, walking the dog, and most fitness activities!

I love these. Super comfortable right out of the box. I've used them all summer not overly hot. Dried relatively quick and don't stink after they met a creek. I heeded the warnings and ordered 1/2 size up. They fit perfectly.
  • Feels great

I am quite happy with the quality and fit of these hiking shoes. They are very lightweight and airy for summer walking and hiking. There is plenty of room in the toe box, just where I need it

  • “Is the Moab a good hiking shoe for underpronators / supinators ?”
Asked by Kern co hiker from Kern co on 7/14/2017 1:48:48 PM
    • It has a pretty high arch (almost too high for my medium- arched feet). Awesome stabilization though. Hope this helps.
Answered on 7/14/2017 2:04:31 PM by CanyonWren from Minneapolis
    • I guess I have a normal to high arch, and these shoes are very comfortable and feel like they have just the right amount of arch support for me.
Answered on 7/14/2017 2:33:33 PM by Is nc from NC
    • If you are planning to do fairly easy hikes it will be fine. It will work with orthotics. I wanted a shoe with a stiffer shank for rocky terrain.
Answered on 7/14/2017 4:50:29 PM by Skiqueen from WA
    • Good shoe for slackers and underachievers. Actually, I use a Birkenstock insert for my pronation in this shoe and it works well when I'm playing my guitar. Hiking? Not a clue.

    • I don't know what 'underpronators / supinators' are - sorry.
Answered on 7/14/2017 7:25:01 PM by Mountaintoprider from Southern Oregon
    • Sorry, I can't answer your question. I only know they are great shoes for my feet. I used to know, but can't recall whether I over or under pronate. I can tell you I have very high arches and the Moab gives me the arch support I need. I also have a wide forefoot and high instep and these shoes give me plenty of room where needed.

    • The shoes are made with waterproof materials but designed to keep your feet ventilated so while they've kept my feet dry on very rainy days they won't keep the water out if you're trying to forge deep puddles or streams.

About Merrell

The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.
