Protection With Sensitivity

I am a beginning runner. I have walked for years but only recently started training to run. My footwear typically is an athletic shoe or a hiker. I really don't like shoes and I pull them off the moment I get home. For me, the idea of barefoot makes sense. I also understand that you need protection from debris outdoors. The Merrell Road Glove Dash 2 does that, offers protection. There is a minimal bit of sole underfoot and you feel more in contact with the ground. Yes, you have to change your stride if you are like most runner who have a heel strike gait. You will also change your cadence. You will be taking shorter strides. The advantage of this change will be to reduce the amount of aches and pains you experience in your ankles, knees, and hips. That is important to me because I celebrated the Big 50 this year. I bought my normal size 8 and they seem perfect with a little bit of room at the end to allow my toes some breathing room. The upper material is mesh-like and breathable. The sole is treated with something to keep it from getting smelly. No socks required. Try these shoes if you are thinking about barefoot or minimalist running!
