The zipper won't stay up on both boots. Tongue not sewn to both sides of shoe, allowing water in. This is a take the dog out for a walk sort of boot. Very comfortable and easy on off, but not waterproof, rather low and the zipper is maddening.
    • Cons: Not Waterproof, TONGUE NOT SEWN TO BOOT, ZIPPER FALLS DOWN CONSTAN

I usually take a 10 or 10 1/2 wide. I tried the 11 and they were still too small. I wish they worked as they looked like they would have been ideal for hiking in the snow and for the quick chores outside when cold and snowy.

These boots run small and very narrow. I could not get them on with the insert in the boot. The zipper does not stay up when walking.

    Comfortable and keeps feet warm.
Had an issue with one of the zippers becoming un-zipped, but helpful support advised to keep the tab in the down position. Will see if this correction continues to maintain zipper closed position.

  • “I wear a 10 1/2 wide, will this boot at 10.5 fit me?”
Asked by Lew from Pittsburgh, PA on 2/11/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • I have read on two other sites that this boot runs at least a full size SMALLER, based on consistent customer feedback. You may want to consider moving up to an 11 1/2 instead.

    • Hi Lew,|Other reviewers suggested to get a 1/2 size larger than what you normally wear, I listened and instead of 11's I ordered 11 1/2's and was glad I did. I wear wides as well and these fit like a glove. Also, don't be discouraged in the first few days about the tightness around the upper ankle. The boots need about 2 or three days to "break-in" a little bit. In terms of the wide sizes the boot expands and contracts as you put weight on them, that's why they fit like a glove and also are the most comfortable boot I've ever worn. Jim B.

    • I'm finding these boots are running about a half size too small -- and very constricting around the instep and ankle. So if you have a high instep you may want to order up a full.

About Merrell

The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.
