2nds, barely perceptible blemishes. This Mini LED headlamp may be lightweight and compact, but it's no featherweight when it comes to brightness and light mode options.

Reviewed by SecretCity Bargain Shopper from Oak Ridge, TN on Monday, May 26, 2014I bought three of these to have on hand for camping, caving, and other family adventures. I liked that they were inexpensive; used readily accessible, mainstream batteries; and offered low and high white light as well as a red light option. So while we splurged and got Dad a higher end light, the kids and I were content to use this bargain bin version with fewer bells and whistles, and a simpler suspension system. All well and good in theory.
Sadly, these lights have performed very poorly. Of the three, only one has worked reliably. There appears to be a problem in either the battery contacts or the switch, but whatever the source of the issue, two of these lamps really don't work (one, not at all, and one, sporadically, as we discovered during a Cave Crawl :( ). The lamps were a great price, but they fall into the "too good to be true" realm.
I guess I've relearned that you get what you pay for.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Cmom from Ohio on Monday, May 19, 2014Three purchased. Three used. Three happy recipients of a stumble-free trek to the "potty". Love the red mode for night vision. Only thing I wish it had was a way to jump straight to "off" from "red" but for the price for a great light I can hold my hand over it and get over myself.
Reviewed by Anonymous from Denver Colorado on Friday, April 11, 2014I bought my 1st one from STP around a year ago. I really like it. I think this product has a glitch which causes an ultra slow battery drain. It takes several weeks but it can eat batteries without use. For backpacking, this light is fantastic. STP finally started carrying them again and I just ordered a 2 more. Even with the glitch, these are a remarkable good product.
Reviewed by uncle B from Springfield, Me on Tuesday, February 12, 2013I bought 2 and they both quit working almost immediately, and yes I tried putting new batteries in! For the record I own several headlamps, some of which are 20 years old and still functional.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Plane Jane from Seattle, WA on Wednesday, January 23, 2013Love this! Only problem so far is that when the batteries were low, the light wouldn't turn off -- it would just give a very low flicker that I couldn't shut down. Otherwise - bright, sturdy, and just what I wanted.
