I got a 3XT, which would be comfortable to loose in a Carhartt, but this is tapered more and really tight around the middle. I wasn't sure measuring from the yoke would return the same sleeve measurement for different sizes, so I laid one of my 37-sleeve dress shirts over it and these are 2" longer from the shoulder.

Joe, Thanks that does help. The method to measure is from the center back under the collar, to the shoulder seam, and then add inches on down to the end of cuff, as a tailor would do. But I do think you are reporting the shirt has almost if not a 38" or 39" sleeve! That's good news for me. What I don't quite get is the rest about tapering. it I suppose it's time for me to take a risk. I am 6'4" tall, need a 37" or more sleeve, and girth enough for my big 44" waist. Perhaps a 2XL? Did the shirt shrink on you? I really appreciate this, I hate to shop, but the stores are impossible and.....Graham
