The waist is on the larger side, but I have a larger waist and smaller hips so that was fine. BUT I'm only 5'3"/123#s and the size 8 is too short! How can that be? They were only $14 so the return ($6) isn't worth it. Perhaps they'll be long enough for my 5'1" sister....

For a size 12 the waist is 32" and the hips are 42", a size 14 has a waist of 34 and hips of 44, a 16 has a waist of 36 and hips of 46". I hope this helps.
