Great backpacking jacket!Reviewed by harryo from Central Illinois on Tuesday, June 24, 2014I bought this jacket because I wanted a lightweight, packable wind jacket for backpacking and it fulfills that purpose very well. It is very lightweight and stuffs down to a very small size. It is windproof and water resistant and is perfect for my purpose. I am very satisfied with it. Be aware that this jacket is a minimalist design in order to save weight and pack to a minimal size. If that is what you want, this jacket is great. If you want pit zips, more pockets, and the weight and packed size are not that important, you would be better off choosing another jacket.

It really doesnt look that great, however it is great for packing while backpacking, because it does break the wind, and weighs next to nothing, and can pack down to smaller than the size of your fist.

Nylon jackets are invaluable for being lightweight, flat packing, warm and dry. My previous jacket was much better than this new model from Mtn Hardware. The jacket has no venting and only two side pockets. The color is supposed to be black but the nylon body is more dark grey although the cuffs and collar are black. So there seems to be a color matching fabric problem. Overall I'm disappointed with the quality and design of this jacket and wish I could replace the earlier model which I lost.
