  • warm but heavy

I bought these for my teenage son. He is 5"10"" and I bought him a men's medium and it was too snug, so I exchanged for a large. The fit is good, but the hood is loose and we have not figured out how to adjust with drawstrings- you can pull elastics but there is no way to make it stick in the length we want. Otherwise nice quality and love the fact he can use the shell or the inner jacket with changes in weather.

Warm, well made jacket, trim fit. Note, hood is not detachable, and liner is reversible as jacket but not reversible as liner. The soft cloth face of the liner can stick to your shirt when trying to put it on. It would be nice if the liner could be reversed to the slippery side to make the assembled jacket easier to get on and off.

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories. Today, after more than two decades of industry-leading innovation, Mountain Hardwear continues to set new benchmarks for dependability in the toughest conditions on the planet.
