Reviewed by Sean from Colorado on Saturday, April 11, 2015The pants do their most important job well - keeping you dry and moving moisture away from your skin. Like many highly breathable fabrics (like Gore-Tex Proshell) they aren't quite as windproof as older less breathable fabrics. The fabric has held up well with virtually no signs of wear after two seasons snowboarding, hiking and snowshoeing.
The biggest drawback is that there is only one small pocket at mid thigh on the right side. The suspenders work but only attach to the front of the pants to enable the seat to drop with the pants still on. The side zippers go up and down but don't allow you to separate the two sides fully - you still have to step through the waist area if you want to keep your boots on. Totally doable but detachable zippers would be easier.
I'm 6'5" and 210 lbs. I bought the XL Long. I have a 34-36 pant size. The waist on these is right for layering and cinches down for spring conditions. The length works well for my 34-36 inseam.

Reviewed by Marcel from Boise, ID on Sunday, February 10, 2013These pants are bomb proof... I've put them through about 15 days skiing so far, and I'm always skiing off piste and trees. I've gone through branches many times and not a sign of wear or tear in these pants. It did get two small cuts in the cuff which I believe are from an avalanche rescue class I've took and had to hike and was hitting branches and rocks while training with a beacon, but the material is really durable and I expect it to last many seasons. The full side zippers are great that you can take the pants out with ski boots, it's good when you layer fleece pants! As another reviewer has mentioned the zippers are hard to handle, stiff and small. Also I wish they have 4 zippers so it would be easy to vent while you are skinning or bootpacking!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by tomek_ct from New Haven, CT on Wednesday, February 6, 2013I own a bunch of MH items and I've been a big fan of their gear for years. But this one is... just a disappointment. I was on the market for a new ski bibs and thought these will be perfect. The material is great and they are really well made. It's a design flaws that made me to send them back.
Suspenders - they are attached to the front and side of of you hip, and not the back - really awkward, and just doesn't work.
Gaiters - very flimsy, they will not seal you from the snow.
Zippers - there is NO WAY you would be able to unzip them while wearing gloves trying to access the gaiters to adjust your boot - they have the tiniest slider lock I've seen.
The pants look good, I admit, but it seems that whoever designed them has some fashion sense but doesn't know much about functionality of a gear or spent much time on the mountain skiing below 0F in North East.

The inseam length on the 2XL pant is 32"
They have a fly.
“For someone who uses a 30" inseam street pants, would be better to go with 32" on this pants or 30"?”
I would definitely recommend going with a Regular 32" inseam to give you full coverage in winter/ski/snowboard boots.
“Does the gaiter opens with velcro or zipper to allow taking off / putting on the pants while wearing ski boots?||I`ve seen different reviews on MH website and backcountry ski blogs that this is possible depending on the year. So I`m not sure if this is the case for these pants sold by STP.”
Velcro. The cuff close and open using Velcro.
