Verified Buyer Reviewed by Finn from Minnesota on Thursday, June 23, 2016Super light weight jacket perfect for summer hiking. Just took it to Isle Royale National Park and it worked perfectly for keeping mosquitoes off without over heating. Worked well to repel dew but did not get rain to tell how water replant it is. Over all a nice summer hiking jacket. True to size.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Lynn from Idaho on Monday, April 18, 2016Great light jacket. Runs small so order a size up.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by MM from Metrowest Massachusetts on Friday, October 30, 2015Although the blue color was gorgeous, I returned the jacket because it was too light. I somehow though it would be warmer, not just a nylon shell, my bad! Needed more warmth for upcoming New England winter!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Charly from Georgia on Tuesday, October 13, 2015I purchased this for my daughter who rows. She says that it fits well and is very moveable. Wonderful construction. Well worth the price.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Lady walker from Australia on Sunday, June 19, 2011This jacket had a nice feel, it was light weight and seemed to stop the wind. The sleeves were quite a bit too long for me but it was easy to simply fold them up. I went for a weekend walk in cold windy weather and it was a great outer layer, light and windproof but still breathable maening I didn't get overheated on the uphill climbs.

“I'm interested in the mountain hardware chockstone jacket. I'm looking for something light for crosscountry skiing and was concerned the fabric would not breathe.”
It will breath relatively well. It may be a little light depending on what you wear underneath.
It would be perfect for xc skiing and breathes well.
“Is "Fire Brick" a different name for the color that the Mountain Hardware website calls "Thunderbird Red" or is it different?”
As we are a closeout business we carry past year's models. This is not the same color as the current Thunderbird red, it is indeed how it looks.
I'm not sure about the Mountain Hardware colors being the same, but I will say "Fire Brick" is more of a soft "berry" color than the name suggests. The good news is my wife was very pleased with it, and she is very picky!
