I went through several purchases before I found this one, and it is by far my favorite! Wonderful warmth. Lots of zippers and pockets. Great coat! Be wary on the sizes though as many coats do not run true to size. THIS ONE DOES. I'm 5'5" and 130lbs and I am definitely a Medium in this coat. I could... Read More

This jacket amazed me when I received it. The fabric is very thick and durable (like a canvas material would be) but lightweight and moveable. The cut is more on the trim side but still generous enough to layer underneath easily.

Just received it and want to tell you the photo depicting the white is not accurate - the whole jacket plus zippers are the same bright white, the inside has a grey and white pattern which is not visible when the jacket is on. Lovely fit, I'm 5'7" 160 and due to muscular physique the large fits perfectly. Awesome features, pit zips, flattering fit, only thing I would add is a way to cinch the waist, just for my body type.

Unfortunately all they had left in my size was the White color, which isn't the easiest to clean muddy dog paw prints from. But it keeps me really warm and fits nicely. Size as expected.

I wanted a very warm coat for our coldest Alaska days. I think this coat would be warm enough, and I loved the many pockets hidden all over. I loved the shape and the length. But it was the stiff zippers under the arms and the overall heaviness of it that made it not the perfect one for me. I realized I just want something much lighter. Returned it.

I love this coat. I spend a lot of time outside hiking in Michigan and needed something warm. I love all the pockets and the pit zips have saved me after a hike, driving home in my car and getting overheated.

At first it seemed like the size did run small. I'm 5'7", 135 lbs and generally wear a medium. For a coat sometimes you want to layer and this coat does fit close, but it fits perfectly. I am able to put a thick hoodie under it and it's just a bit bulky but not as much as I thought. However, the coat is so warm I really don't need to wear a hoodie under it, so far.

    Very happy with this purchase.

    • It's is semi-fitted I would say. If she likes to layer I'd go with the Large. I am a solid medium and the Medium in this jacket is perfect without layers. It's very warm. It also unzips from the bottom so it's not too tight when sitting.

    • I would say it’s fitted. I did not keep it. Returned it because it felt too heavy and bulky, especially with the underarm zippers.

    • I would not consider this fitted but it runs small. Most of my clothes are size 6 or 8. I purchased a med and a large based on the review. I kept the large and would not have room for a very bulky sweater under it. Hope this helps shopper2

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories. Today, after more than two decades of industry-leading innovation, Mountain Hardwear continues to set new benchmarks for dependability in the toughest conditions on the planet.
