Warm and StylishVerified Buyer Reviewed by Gear Junky from North Idaho on Saturday, February 3, 2018A North Idaho winter is all about the outerware. This coat is warm enough for sub zero temperatures but feels light and luxurious when I slip it on. It has three pockets, one inside and two outside. All are big enough for a large cell phone and all have zippers. There is a drawstring inside the coat for a waist adjustment. I bought white and the coat has a nice pearlized shimmer. Although I didn’t buy it for water resistance, the coat does seem to stay dry in misty or light rain.
I bought a medium. I am 5’7”, 144 lbs. This coat fits me perfectly. I usually wear medium or size 8. I have a 30” inseam and this coat hits at the top of my knee. I bough this coat for walking a half mile into town for dinner and errands when I wanted to look nice and be warm at the same time.
Perfect fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by SoSo from Texas on Thursday, February 1, 2018I was looking for a longer winter coat and this is just the right size. I am 4'11", and weigh about 110. The small fits perfect! I am even able to wear it with a sweatshirt and still have a little room to move (as is it doesn't fit too tight). The length is just what I was looking for, it goes to my knees. My daughter and I are planning a trip to Chicago this month and I can't wait to use it there. I love that it has the removable hood and faux fur. I like having the inside pocket for my phone. I know it has the cord inside to adjust the waist, but I usually don't use that, but we will see if I use it in Chicago. My only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, is the color. I wish I would have had more options in color, however, I do LOVE white, just afraid it will get dirty so fast. I hope it washes well.

Sleek and WarmVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mesquite Mystic from Wisconsin on Friday, January 26, 2018I bought this among a few other parkas for my wife. She’s a Canadian and has particular ideas about winter coats. This one matches those ideals: Long enough with flexibility to move comfortably; puffy and warm with nice features like monkey fur lining and soft pockets; and though skeptical of the white color-she wears black, that’s the Montreal style—the material has a slick finish that seems to resist staining from dirty road salt. It’s an amazing coat especially for the STP price.
Fabulous buy!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Gardening Granna from Mississippi on Thursday, January 18, 2018LOVE this pretty, warm coat! Extremely comfortable and keeps me toasty warm. Light weight and does not feel bulky. Lots of style while being functional.

Lovely, but Not for MeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Long Tall Jeanne from Minneapolis, MN on Wednesday, January 18, 20175' 10", lanky, 145 lbs,, small-busted, broad-shouldered, and the L fit perfectly: sleeves were long enough, fit was fitted without being tight with a sweater underneath. I'm typically a M in tops, 8-10 if sizing, with long arms/legs, but I'm finding a M in this and any similar coat across brands is too snug (perhaps OK with only one layer underneath?). Loved the raspberry color. This coat would be perfect in temps in the teens and above, or in colder temps if needed for going from home to car to work.
HOWEVER, I needed something for walking in single and sub-zero temps and this wasn't it. During my 3-degree dog-walk test, my backside and thighs were chilly (the fleece lining stops around upper hip and it was noticeable), the breeze snuck in at the zipper (the inside zipper placket wasn't enough), and the hood wasn't large enough for the fur to provide facial warmth. This went back and I turned to a men's parka for a big hood, zipper plackets, sleeves to my knuckles, lots of big pockets, warmth to my thighs...I feel like a minion, but I know I'll be warm if I tip over!
Depending on your needs, this would be a lovely coat! 4 stars instead of 5 because of sizing -- my normal size wouldn't fit well over typical winter clothing.
I love, love, love this coat!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Swissy Mom from Illinois on Monday, January 2, 2017I purchased this exact style coat elsewhere and decided to purchase one for my elderly mother who is moving back to the upper Midwest from Florida this month. So happy that I found it at Sierra Trading Post. She loves the plum color and it is weighs next-to-nothing but is sooooo warm.
Best coat I have ever ownedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Maddy from Idaho on Monday, December 26, 2016This coat is awesome. It is great for snow and very cold conditions. It hasn't been above freezing in a week and this is my go to coat. I love the removable hood and double sided zipper. I am a size 12, 5'6 tall. The large fits me perfect with enough room for a fleece or sweater under.
Great coatReviewed by Hb from Colorado on Wednesday, December 7, 2016Love the color. Went for walk in 10 degrees weather and kept me warm. Probably would have been fine with a size medium, my usual size, but I sized up to large to be sure I can wear bulky sweaters underneath. Yes it's a little big on me, sleeves are a bit long, but that's ok, very happy with it.

“To what temp is this cost rated? (Going to Lapland.) What is neck to hem back length?”
Coats aren’t rated like sleeping bags because there are a lot more factors variables with a coat wearer, but here’s an article that helps explain more about those variables: https://www.rockcreek.com/temperature-ratings-jackets-no-just-no
The neck to the back hem on a medium measures 36 inches.

“How long are the sleeves?”
Sleeves on a size small are 34.5" long.
“i'm looking for sizing info. What are measurements for XS?”
XS= size 2, according to this listing. I checked the Mountain Hardwear website directly and their size guide for their Downtown coat gives the following information: XS (size 2): Bust 33” (84 cm), Sleeve 30” (76 cm), waist 25” (64 cm), hip 35” (89 cm). Hope this helps!
“Can you give me the measurement of the small size”
Sorry, but at this time we are sold out of the size small.
